International Symposium on Multimedia over Wireless (ISMW) 2007

August 12-16, 2007 Turtle Bay Resort, Honolulu, Hawaii

Call For Papers

Also available in DOC, PDF, and TXT formats.

The deadline for paper submission has been extended to March 30, 2007.

Multimedia communication over wireless networks has become the driving technology of many important applications, experiencing dramatic market growth and promising revolutionary experiences in personal communication, gaming, entertainment, military, security, environment monitoring, and more. As the communication paradigm quickly evolves from conventional desktop, wired, centralized communication to portable, wireless, and distributed communication, the research community in multimedia coding, wireless communication and networking are facing numerous new technical challenges and also embracing a host of new research opportunities. The symposium aims to provide an excellent forum for all experts in these areas to meet and discuss various important issues on multimedia over wireless.

The papers submitted to this symposium should focus on the state-of-the-art research in various important areas related to emerging technologies and standards on multimedia communication over wireless networks. The areas of interest include but not limited:

·          Advanced image/video coding algorithms

·          Scalable video coding and transmissions

·          Distributed multimedia coding for sensor networks

·          Video trans-coding and content distributions

·          Multimedia delivery over wireless embedded devices

·          Video over wireless LAN/WiMAX

·          Wireless acoustic/image/video sensor networks

·          Error resilience and concealment

·          Medium access control for multimedia

·          Cross-layer resource allocation and performance optimization

·          Quality of service support multimedia over wireless networks

·          Joint source-channel coding and adaptive rate control

·          Information security for wireless multimedia

·          Mobile content distribution networks

·          Wireless multimedia traffic modeling

·          Energy-constrained multimedia encoding and decoding

·          Low-power circuits and system design for wireless multimedia

·          Multimodal multimedia services

·          Test Beds, trials and demonstrations

·          Wireless multimedia terminal and devices

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers of no more than six (6) pages in double-column IEEE format including results, figures and references at  http://edas.info/index.cgi before April 10, 2007.
